Features

Key additions to the latest firmware includes:

1.- Advanced Mesh with Self-Healing, Dynamic Re-Routing, QoS and Power Control

This powerful mesh allows deployment of complex networks where cabling is not an option, ensuring the best quality of service over the air.

2.- WPA Enterprise with Radius Support + Dynamic VLANs (802.1x) Ensure network security and customer privacy by dynamically assigning an individual VLAN to each customer. This feature allows the accomplishment of enterprise grade projects where security and privacy is a must.

3.- Unveiling of Hidden MAC Addresses Many modern devices falsify or randomize their MAC addresses when sending polling frames due to privacy concerns of the use of this information by network owners. This update reveals the real MAC address, whilst always safeguarding the privacy and anonymity of the users, and uses it to improve the quality of service in the WiFi network.

4.- Location of Connected Clients with Real or Randomized MAC Addresses Using only the WiFi network, without diminishing its performance, this firmware update is able to locate connected devices whether they randomize their MAC address or not. This is all achieved without the user having to install anything additional or modify their device. The network owner can access this information and compare it to quality of service metrics in our dashboard.

5.- New Modular Licenses and an Auto-Download Licensing System to Easy License Upgrades to Access New Features The new modular licenses allow the network owner to select only those features they want to enjoy on their infrastructure, obtaining an a-la-carte license exclusively for requirements. Additionally, the APs will download their new licenses if there is an update, making life easier for the WiFi network manager.

6.- Zero-Touch Provisioning This feature allows a newly deployed AP to automatically connect to the Internet and request, validate or update its license. The network optimization parameters are automatically configured without user intervention, although the user still has access to them if they want to modify any of them in a particular situation. Just plug and play.

7.- High Density Scenarios Dynamic probing frames management for massive user density deployments. Due to our experience gained in high user density environments such as sports stadiums or convention centers, CHT now dynamically (and in real time) adapts the number of stored polling frames of nearby devices, to minimize memory and CPU usage whilst serving all of them. Additionally, user devices are stimulated for improved location and roamings at an adaptive frequency depending on the traffic load.

8.- Discovery of IEEE 802.11 Amendments Supported by User Devices There are an enormous variety of amendments to the 802.11 standard that mobile devices can optionally implement to improve their features, such as the well-known 802.11k, 802.11v, 802.11r, etc. These amendments help the active discovery of new networks, seamless roaming or pre-authentication of terminals, amongst many other things.

9.- Support of Multi-thread Operation The AP is able to optimize performance, locate user device and maintain user security, all at the same time, without WiFi service disruption to all users.

10.- Better… Improvements in algorithms, bug fixes, binaries, dashboard and much more…
